What's this?

Is the bell tolling for the death of the Corporate Information Unit?

Can Google really fill the gap? Has turning east accelerated the demise?

Sue Edgar

Sue Hill Recruitment

The short article attempts to offer up a potted history of how Corporate Information Units find themselves increasingly under the spotlight, under threat or with a closed sign on the door. By looking at the early 2000s and into this current climate it is clear that circumstance, technology, economics and resistance to change have been major factors in the demise. Going forward there will be challenges and excitement for those Information Managers who have a thirst for adventure. With thanks to those corporate librarians in London and New York for sharing their observations and predictions.

Key Words: business library • change management • corporate information unit
